Success Stories

Alice, aged 19, was suffering from severe social anxiety and depression before she came to the Nest, and is now a confident young woman. Here are her experiences with our charity in her own words:

“The first time I went and looked around the farm was the first time I had left my house in over a year, and within 10 minutes of being there, I saw a future for myself for the first time in over 4 years. I went to The Nest because I was at rock bottom and needed support. I stayed at The Nest because it’s the best thing to have ever happened to me. The Nest saved my life. It has been a constant beacon of light. It has always allowed me to be myself, and in doing so, it helped me find who I am.

I’ve been able to do so many things I didn’t think I’d live long enough to do. The Nest has opened so many doors for me and given me endless possibilities of what I could do with my life. Learning to drive, dating, having the best 19th birthday ever and going to so many new places are just a few of the things I’ve been able to do this year. The Nest gave me back my future, one that I’m genuinely excited for! I always want to be part of this charity and I’m very proud to become a volunteer for The Nest next term. I will always help in any way I can because if there is one thing I know for certain is that this charity is going to save so many lives.”

Another example is Bethany, aged 12, who started coming to the Nest after experiencing anxiety, fluctuation of moods and sensory overload. Below is her handwritten note explaining the impact coming to the Nest has made on her life:
