From a parent

Dear Hannah, and Everyone at The Nest,

I just wanted to say thank you, although that doesn't seem quite enough.

Sometimes it is difficult to see just how low you have managed to get and how small your world has become. When Rose started suffering with her mental health, it felt a very lonely place, both for her and me. Trying to respect her feelings and her privacy, it's not something that you can easily share with other people, therefore, the burden becomes yours and yours alone.

Having tried normal avenues for help and finding nowhere to turn, very limited support and nothing that quite fit our needs, I began to despair and felt my own mental health was also coming undone.

However, upon hearing about The Nest and the wonderful things you do, I felt so grateful to have that first conversation with you Hannah. From that moment I felt the beginnings of hope, it was a long road to get my child with you and I really appreciate all of your help and support in getting her a place, both with your contact with us and the school.

The evening with Beth also was a great thing to help with understanding and to learn tools to help navigate being a parent of a teenager, especially one that was finding life so tough. It was great to meet you all that evening and I knew I couldn't wait for Rose to start her journey with you.

The Nest has not only been a lifeline for my child, but also for me. I felt it so comforting to know that Rose would be somewhere supportive, nurturing, kind, and caring, but also in a place of positivity, somewhere that would enable my child to thrive and truly be herself, and not be made to fit into a box that she'll never fit in.

Since Rose started with yourselves, I have seen her confidence grow, her mind seems to have opened, and she has been able to make better choices for herself in her everyday life. She believes in herself has once again and I feel like I have my daughter back.

We both know that self-belief is something to continuously work on, but that if she can remember the things she has learnt, it has given her a head start in moving forward.

I'm very grateful for all of you, and all that you do,
