The summer term has been all about welcoming both new and familiar faces to The Nest. From reconnecting with former young people who have returned to share their inspiring journeys, to introducing new volunteers who have already become valued members of our team, June has been a month of growth, connection, and new beginnings.
Tilly – Our Suffolk Shepherdess
One of this month's highlights has been welcoming Tilly, our Suffolk Shepherdess, to The Nest. Our young people had the opportunity to watch Tilly at work as she demonstrated the care, skill, and dedication involved in managing and looking after her sheep.
Watching Tilly share her knowledge gave our young people a valuable insight into the responsibilities of working with livestock and the variety of careers available within agriculture and the rural sector. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about life on the farm and to see first-hand the passion and commitment that goes into caring for animals.
Welcome Back, Tilly!
This month we were delighted to welcome back one of our former young people, Tilly. It is always a joy to see previous members of The Nest return and to witness just how far they have come since leaving us.
Tilly spent time with our current young people, sharing her journey during her time at The Nest and talking about the incredible experiences she has had since moving on. From travelling to embracing new challenges, her story was one of courage, resilience, and determination.
She left our young people feeling inspired and hopeful, reminding them that their futures are full of possibilities and that they too can achieve incredible things.
A Warm Welcome to Adelaide
We are thrilled to welcome Adelaide to our wonderful team of volunteers. Adelaide brings a wealth of experience working with both young people and animals, and she has already become an invaluable member of the team.
Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and kindness have been warmly received by everyone, and our young people are enjoying learning from her. We are delighted to have her as part of The Nest family.
Wishing Phoebe the Very Best
June also brought a bittersweet goodbye as we said farewell to Phoebe on her last day at The Nest.
Phoebe has been a hugely valued member of our team, building strong relationships with our young people and providing them with unwavering support, encouragement, and care. While we are incredibly sad to see her go, we couldn't be more excited for her next adventure.
Phoebe is moving to Zambia, where she will be working with young people and making a positive difference in many more lives. We know she will be amazing, and we wish her every success as she begins this exciting new chapter. We can't wait to follow her journey and hear about all the incredible things she achieves.
